Claymont's Junior/Senior prom, On the Red Carpet, is THIS Saturday, April 27 at the Kent Tusc Performing Arts Center. Walk-ins are from 7pm to 8pm and the dance is from 8pm to 11pm. Congratulations to Claymont Mock Trial Team at January's District Competition in New Philadelphia. Only 4 Total Local Teams were chosen to advance to Regionals on Friday, February 15th in Marietta and Claymont High School advanced 3 out of 4.

Intent to participate form for ALL new and returning CCP students
The Tuscarawas Area Counselor's Association (TACA) will be putting on a Mental Health Night on March 12 at Kent Tusc. PAC. The doors will open at 6:30 and the program will start at 7:00. The guest speakers this year will be Jan Callentine and Orvis Campbell. Students and Staff are encouraged to attend.
Reminder that the Junior State ACT is scheduled for Feb 20.

Interested senior students (Class of 2019) could be a part of MEDCAMP at Northeast Ohio Medical University!
MEDCAMP is a three-day intensive immersion experience held in the summer, designed to stimulate students’ interests in the sciences related to medicine and to expose them to opportunities in those fields. The program provides “hands-on” experiences in biomedical science workshops involving research, clinical problem-solving and an introduction to the fields of clinical medicine.
Interested seniors may apply online by visiting http://www.neomed.edu/medcamp. Applications are due by April 3, 2019 and you will be notified of your acceptance by May 3, 2019.
The cost for this experience is $150.00. Since a number of tuition waivers are available, cost for tuition should not discourage any interested student from applying to MEDCAMP.
The Claymont Foundation, Inc. will award scholarships to graduates of Claymont High School who are full time undergraduate college students attending a technical trade school, community college, or university.
There are two (2) types of scholarships available - academic merit based and financial need based.
The application must be received by the Claymont Foundation at PO Box 222, Uhrichsville, OH 44683 or received electronically at firstname.lastname@example.org by 3:00 pm on March 1, 2019.
Winners will be notified by a letter in April. Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend the Claymont Foundation banquet on May 11, 2019 where scholarships will be awarded.
For all (new) interested CCP students (grades 7-12) There will be an informational night at Kent Tuscarawas in the Performing Arts Center on Feb 19 at 6:00. If you have not attended a session we recommend that you do so on this evening. A letter of Intent to Participate Form must be turned into the guidance office by April 1, 2019
Attention juniors and seniors: Kent State is once again offering its Engineer for a Day program. It's an opportunity for students to explore the field of engineering and technology. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, February 5th. Contact Mr. Meiser for more information.

This past weekend our Mock Trial Team went to Cincinnati and participated in a scrimmage against more than 20 teams. We proudly brought home two awards:

- Caylan Rentsch for Outstanding Attorney

Congratulations to Keanna Avery on her signing with Wheeling Jesuit University!
On Monday, November 12th, the sophomore class will be visiting Buckeye Career Center. We will be leaving the high school at 9:00am and returning around 1:30pm. Lunch will be provided by Buckeye Career Center. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the career center!
Starting Monday November 5th students will be able to wear their Pajamas every Monday from now until Christmas Break. You can either pay 2 dollars for the days you want or 10 dollars for the entire time.
The team is 3rd place in points, they are currently Undefeated with a win of 35-18 over Indian Valley. Their final match of regular play with be against Ridgewood at home. There will also be the Final IVC Tournament Saturday November 3rd at Indian Valley Highschool.
Colvin Hershberger placed 15th out of 180 runners in the Cross Country Regional Tournament held yesterday at Pickerington North. He posted a time of 16:55 in the cold and rainy weather!! He will represent Claymont at the State Championships at National Trail Raceway (Hebron, OH) next Saturday, November 3 at 11:45am. Way to go, Colvin!
CHS Choir concert 7pm on the 30th. On November 8th, Sophomores will go to BCC, fill out forms online to attend. Jostens will be at BCC to collect forms. The wrestling poster will be photographed on Thursday after school at the high school, and lastly if you'd like to join indoor track see Mrs. Barnhart. Let's get this bread.
Sport your favorite meme on Wednesday and wear school colors on Thursday. Volleyball district semi-finals the 24th at Malvern. Watch our glorious Mustangs take a swing at the Braves on Thursday, the 25th for the IV football game. If you are interested in joining indoor track, see Mrs. Barnhart.
Hey, it's ya'boy Wyatt with your weekly update. Any 18 year old interested in voting in the November election should see Mr. Buxton before Tuesday October 9th, and "put bullying to bed" by wearing pajamas on the 10th. Purple-out homecoming FB game vs. Newcomerstown October 12th. Homecoming dance 8 pm to 11 pm with tickets on sale for $5 that can be purchased from Mrs. Kunkle.
The Claymont Academic Challenge team won their first meet...defeating Tuscarawas Central Catholic 47-30. The performance last night was good enough for 2nd place in the IVC standings. Coach Schilling says amazing job and he will see you in practice.
Our fall blood drive will be on Thursday, September 27 from 9:30am-1pm in the gymnasium. Sixteen and seventeen-year-olds wanting to donate need to get a parent permission form from the main office or from Mrs. Kunkle in room 138. A picture ID will be required to donate blood on that day.
For our 922 day celebrations, we will host an assembly to present Academic awards from last year, recognition of staff members who are Claymont graduates, and cheers led by the cheerleaders.
Next (We need your patience and positivity), we will be going out to the practice field to make a human “922” that will be videotaped by drone.
For lunch, we will be grilling outside and Students can use chalk to put positive messages on the sidewalks. Unless it rains. In that case, we will still grill.
The plan is for Student attending to come to the High School in the morning. 12th BCC & Fulltime BCC will be bused back to BCC at noon.

The volleyball team hosted a home match last night against East Liverpool. The JV won in two sets: 25-19, 25-21. The Varsity won in 4 sets: 25-23, 16-25, 25-22, 25-22. Reagan Norman had 25 assists, 8 kills, 7 digs, and 10 points. Keanna Avery had 20 kills, 15 digs, 7 blocks, and 4 points. Ryleigh Ronald 9 kills and 5 blocks. Paige Rossi had 14 digs, and 12 points while Regan Brown had 14 digs. A big thanks to our awesome cheering section! We love your support! The Lady Mustangs take on Ridgewood on Tuesday for our Team Purple game!
Next Wednesday during 5A, B and C lunch periods, we will have a student involvement fair in the gym. After you eat, make your way to the gym to learn about all the clubs and activities at our school. There is something for everyone, so get involved!
The Claymont Freshman Volleyball team earned another win again New Phila last night. They won in two sets - 25-11, 25-23. The JV and Varsity teams take on Malvern tonight at Home and East Liverpool tomorrow night at Home. Both matches begin at 5:30 pm.
The Claymont golf team of Garrett Devore, Blake Akers, Hunter Cunningham, Drew Brick, Marcus Steve and Bryden Doane defeated Newcomerstown last night at Hickory Flats Golf Course. The team is back in action tonight at Big Bend against the Strasburg Tigers with a tee time of 4:00. Congratulations and good luck, golfers!
