Hello and welcome to the 2024 - 2025 school year. I am Mrs. Jessica Marsh, building principal at Claymont Intermediate School.  I’m very excited to kick off the school year and welcome each of you to your Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade school year. Our building is ready to be filled with students, staff, laughter, growth, and achievement. 

Our team has put together a strong foundation and looks forward to working with our students and families to create a Mustang Spirit that can’t be beat. This school year Claymont Intermediate School will focus on achieving our goals through targeted direct instruction. We also will focus on creating a culture that socially, emotionally and physically supports our students and meets their needs.  

Attached you will find a map indicating pick-up and drop-off routines for the upcoming school year. Please know that the Bus Hub area will be closed to all pick-up and drop-off traffic. Bus routes will use both sides of the street, and student safety is my primary concern. Car lane traffic will enter from Spring Street or 4th Street, turning left onto Welch. As you leave the school, please continue straight on Welch or turn right onto 3rd Street. I kindly ask for everyone to provide grace as we fine-tune our routine, and remember that our number one priority is everyone’s safety. 

Our main office is located on the Welch Street Side of the building. To help us maintain a safe and secure building, all visitors should enter through the main entrance and sign-in with the office staff. 

Breakfast and lunch are available to students for free during the 2024 - 25 school year. The Claymont Intermediate tardy bell will ring at 7:55 am, and the brown gym doors will be open for students to enter at 7:30 am. There will be no adult supervision until 7:30 due to meetings, training, and teacher collaboration. All families will need to update their Student Registration/Back-to-School Forms, these forms are essential for a successful school year. 

I would like to formally invite students and their families to our Claymont Intermediate School Open House, scheduled for Wednesday, August 21 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. Students are welcome to bring their supplies, meet their teacher, and tour the building. We will also confirm that families have updated and submitted their Back-to-School Forms.
