Encouraging and Enhancing the Educational
excellence of Claymont City Schools

The Claymont Foundation, established in 1996, is a not-for-profit, tax exempt volunteer organization that provides teacher grants, student scholarships and high school academic awards and recognizes Claymont, Uhrichsville and Dennison graduates for their achievement and commitment to their community, career and humanity.

The board is made up of Claymont, Uhrichsville and Dennison grads as well as a staff, school board and administrative representative.

In the last 7 years, the Claymont Foundation has awarded over $169,000 in Teacher Grants to enhance the education of Claymont students.  The teachers, principals and staff apply for these grants by submitting an application to describe a program, project or event that will encourage the students to become more interested in their education and to add to what is already provided in the classroom.

We have been fortunate to be able to award over $425,000 in scholarships to Claymont seniors and graduates.  These scholarships have been made available to the Foundation through donations in honor of or in memory of alumni, teachers, community members, classes and loved ones.  We are truly honored to provide an opportunity to allow students to pursue a higher education.

The Claymont Foundation is always looking for volunteers to assist with projects and programs, to provide articles for the newsletter and to nominate potential Alumni Award Winners.

The Foundation relies on the donations of alumni, the community, businesses and those interested in encouraging and enhancing the educational excellence of Claymont students.

If you have questions, an alumni nomination, an idea for a newsletter article or would like to donate, please contact us at:
